Fall Fishing
Enjoy some of your September fishing time fly fishing one of Maine's
best landlock salmon rivers, the Upper West Branch of the Penobscot
River below Hannibal's Crossing. Accessible only by canoe or seaplane
some of the best fall landlock water stretches before you. By
twenty foot canoes, we haul a tent camp eight miles downstream
and set up among some of the best pools on the river. The food
is plentiful and pleasing to the taste buds. Not what you might
expect in the back country. It's fly fishing only where the salmon
hit hard and jump often. Four pound fish are not uncommon with
the average around two pounds. Add the fall colors and a campfire
and it makes for a trip people take again and again. $250 per
person per day. Three day minimum.
Maine Muskies
Join us in the spring or in the fall for a wonderful trip into the St. John River drainage to Battle muskies with your fly rod or spinning tackle.
Considered to be the fish of a thousand cast in most places, Maine has some of the best action anywhere. We have been averaging four to eight fish a day on flies and lures.
We will spend two days and one night camping in remote Maine where we see more moose, deer and eagle than people. Accessible only by 4-wheel drive or float plane. We'll bring the gear and food and do all the cooking.
Spring is spawning season for muskies. We fish the shallow marshy areas with flies and lures where the muskies go to spawn. The strikes are furious and surface fishing at its best. Fall brings the muskie back to the shallows prowling the shoreline searching for an easy meal. The leaves are turning and the scenery is spectacular. Moose frequent the area foraging for the last of the water plants.
Cost: $500 per person / two people minimum
Includes: 2 days guided fishing, 1 night camping and meals &
land transportation from Greenville
(Float plane fly-in arrangements extra)
